A workshop designed to train peer-counsellors in churches however, most people will benefit from this workshop. It will improve all of your relationships and the information and skills learned in this workshop will help to make you a better parent, a better friend, spouse, leader, and colleague.

Offered online and in-person (can be customized for your church’s needs). 

Online-6 weekly sessions of 2 hours each. 

In-person-over 2 consecutive Saturdays 10-4.

The desire for deep connections between believers is on many hearts and minds these days. How often have we heard leaders in the church talk about community? Part of the problem though is that our individualistic society does not prepare people to need each other, in fact, it teaches us that needing others is a weakness. However, the church is countercultural and God has created us for connection. This workshop will help to create closeness in your relationships by teaching you not to fear vulnerability in yourself or others and by helping you understand what people need in order to trust and feel connected in healthy ways.

The workshop is founded on biblical principles and will look at what prevents us from making genuine connections with others and how to overcome these obstacles. It is also practical and will teach skills and then give you an opportunity to practice them with others. It is interactive and encourages connections between participants. It includes lots of discussion, teaching, group work, role play and exercises.     

I created the Closer workshop from a need I saw in the church and a desire to see believers love each other the way God intended. It is this love that strengthens the church and the church needs to be strong. My heart and call are to serve the church. Closer is unique and as far as I know, cannot be found anywhere else. I know that you will see people care in new and more sincere ways and your entire congregation will be blessed as a result.
