Frequently Asked Questions

You may have questions, I hope this answers them.

  • In what formats do you offer your counselling services?

I offer counselling in-person in my office or from the comfort of your home on a secure online platform.

  • Will I need to download anything to do online counselling?

No, I use the Jane.app and nothing could be easier. You will receive a link via email before your session and all you need to do is click on it. Simple!

  • Where is your office?

My office is on Kingsway Ave and has free on-street parking.

  • Is your office accessible?

It can be. Let me explain. I am on the second floor of an office building that has no elevator. If the stairs are a problem, just let me know in advance, and we can meet in an office on the main floor. This area is accessible.

  • What are your fees?

My fees are $175 for a 60-minute session. The sessions are 1 full hour. The industry standard is 50-minute sessions but I believe you should get what you pay for.

  • Does insurance cover any of the fee?

Yes, many insurance plans will cover all or part of the fee for counselling. You will need to check with your particular insurer for the specifics of your plan.

  • Do you direct bill the insurance company?

No, I will provide you with a receipt which you can submit for reimbursement.

  • What forms of payment do you take?

All of the regular ones. You can pay with cash, credit card, or debit card.

  • When is the payment due?

Payment is due at the end of each session.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment unless you are ill. If you wake up sick the day of your appointment, please do not come in, you will not be charged for the cancellation. I ask that you let me know as soon as you know. You will be charged for the session if you are a no-show or if you cancel last-minute.

  • Who are your clients?

My passion and training are geared toward couples and women over the age of 16.

  • You say you counsel from a Christian worldview, but are you a Christian?

Yes, I am. God gave me the faith to believe when I was a young girl.

  • Are you under any professional supervision?

Yes, I believe in ongoing supervision throughout my career. Two really are better than one and support, encouragement, and professional collaboration benefits both the counsellor and the client. This never violates your confidentiality or privacy.

  • Who are you accountable to?

I am accountable to the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) through whom I have the Canaidan Certified Counsellor designation, as well as to my mentor who is a Bible scholar, pastor, and friend.
